Social behaviour in health and disease

Zebrafish are very social…

…but not all of them, just like us.

We can’t peek inside our brains yet, but we can image the whole brain of these social fish!

Zebrafish interact socially in a multitude of different ways, just like us.

Therefore, we can study the circuits that underlie simple and more complex social behaviours in health and disease (e.g. schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, social anxiety, social phobia, social isolation, etc.).

Our discoveries are helping to find new ways to prevent and treat social behaviour disorders and mental health.
